Irvine based Prontoport Ltd has gone from strength to strength since incorporation in 2006, providing mechanical engineering services to the renewable energy sector.
With years of experience in the field, Director Jim McInnes identified that despite the company’s promising start, a strategic plan had to be put in place to allow the business to continue growing to meet its full potential. Despite having professional operational procedures in place, and being well experienced to deliver certain contracts, Prontoport found that in several cases they required formal accreditation to be an approved supplier to certain large multi-national organisations.
Following a strategic review meeting with Business Development in September last year, this key priority was approved for support through Business Development’s ‘Skills for Growth’ Programme and the company received a 50% grant towards the costs of implementation and accreditation for ISO 9001 (implementing a Quality Management system), ISO 14001 (implementing an Environmental Management system), and ISO 18001 (implementing a Health and Safety management system).
Director Jim McInnes commented; ‘By successfully implementing these quality standards, we have increased our ability to become a preferred supplier to large organisations in our market sector. We have enhanced our client base and employed new members of staff as we continue to grow and diversify our services. Our close relationship with the Business Development Team has played an important part in our growth over the last year, and together we are currently looking at ways to continue this into the next year’.
