COMPANY FOCUS: ALLENWEST WALLACETOWN LTD

COMPANY FOCUS: ALLENWEST WALLACETOWN LTD Local success story Allenwest Wallacetown Ltd, who are leading designers and manufacturers of Flameproof (FLP) and Explosion Protected Apparatus (EPA), primarily for use in the potentially hazardous areas of Coal Mining, Off-Shore and Petro-Chemical Industries, continue to go from strength to strength.

From its Irvine base the company has a global presence through its subsidiaries in China, Russia and South Africa in addition to a network of distributors and agency representation located in key customer markets. Flameproof and Explosion Protected Apparatus has been exported to over 50 countries where safety and reliability of both product and supplier is critical to the end user.

Allenwest Wallacetown Ltd recently became a member of the Ampcontrol Group, one of the world's leading and most technologically advanced electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers and service providers in the international coal mining market.

As a result of these exciting developments, substantial investment has been made in Irvine with additional premises being leased thanks to North Ayrshire Council, an RSA application being submitted for the purchase of new machinery, and staff numbers rising to over 110. “North Ayrshire Council is currently working with us in a number of areas to support our growth plans, and if this comes to fruition then we will be requiring an additional 10 staff in the near future” added Robert Watson, Finance Manager.
