Development and Promotion employ two Special Projects Officers. Their principal task is, through a partnership approach, to deliver special projects designed to produce visible outcomes in the North Ayrshire economy.

The work itself comprises many aspects. The project work itself; that is the development of specific projects from the research and feasibility stage through to implementation and evaluation. The projects themselves can come from a variety of sources both internal and external to the Council.

There is also the partnership dimension which involves working with partner organisations and local groups to secure joint solutions to both area wide and local issues. The solutions are then translated into action plans and subsequently to the appropriate project delivery mechanism.

Finally, a fundamental criteria to achieving the above is the ability of the Special Project Officers is to successfully identify and secure financial resources from both the public and private sectors.
