EMPLOYABILITY
 
Our economic development officers deliver a package of employability programmes to give North Ayrshire companies the opportunity to recruit well-trained and motivated individuals.  Below is a list and summary of each of these initiatives;

Jobs Access Initiative/Equip:
Offers specialist intensive support, training and financial incentives both to individuals looking to re-enter the labour market and companies wishing to recruit. Contact Stephen Hamill on 01294 322707 or email: Stephen@ceisayrshire.co.uk 
 
Job Rotation:
Employees (sourced and trained by the project) are placed in companies allowing the host company to “free up” existing workers to undertake further training.  Contact: Olga Morrison, Workers’ Educational Association, on 01294 475651or email: o.morrison@weascotland.org.uk 
 
Jobs Access Wage Subsidy:
Delivered by our Business Development team, this project offers 50% of wages for a 26 week period subject to the client meeting strict unemployment/training criteria.  Contact Hazel Blades on 01294 225152.
 
Opp2mise:
The objective of this programme is to support the growth and development of social economy organisations. Contact Colin McKee on 01294 606001
 
In addition to these core initiatives, a range of training programmes are provided by the team, targeted at recruiting into specialist sectors including, retail, care, manufacturing, engineering and construction.
 
Working for Families (WfF):
Working for Families is an employability project funded by North Ayrshire Council.  It aims to support and assist parents who want to return to work, or sustain their employment, but are prevented from doing so because of their childcare problems.
 
Who can it help?
  • All parents within North Ayrshire
What support can I receive?
  • Confidential advice and guidance from an experienced Link Advisor
  • Support with an Individual Action Development Plan to work towards your goal
  • Referral to other agencies for advice
How can WfF help?
  • Childcare funding
  • Support with accessing employment
  • Access to information on childcare providers, money advice and benefits
  • Assistance with CV's, application forms etc.
